ETHICS PROGRAM Historically, the heath care industry has been focused on providing medical care to a wide ranging demographic. With enormous strides in developing treatment and advances in technology, the health care system has expanded exponentially. With expansion, the health care system has become more complicated requiring numerous regulations and requirements. Unfortunately, many unscrupulous individuals have entered the industry to take advantage of vulnerabilities identified within the system.  Additionally, there has been a dramatic increase in fraud and abuse in an industry wherein in excess of 15% of the Gross Domestic Product is generated.  The mission of the Provider Ethics Program (PEP) is to provide ethics training concerning Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance Program medical providers. As part of the program, fraud and abuse issues are discussed in detail regarding a variety of disciplines.
